Profile

Andrew Zillmer is the Deputy Division Director for Space Nuclear Power and Isotope Technology and Program Manager for Isotope Production at Idaho National Laboratory. His duties include development and deployment of radioisotope power systems and space nuclear reactors, and isotope production for government and commercial customers. He has more than 17 years of engineering and leadership experience across aerospace, technology, and energy markets. Prior to joining INL, Zillmer served in various leadership roles at Aerojet Rocketdyne and eSolar, while also participating in the CleanTech Open and NextLA startup accelerator programs. Zillmer served as a board member of the American Nuclear Society’s Aerospace Nuclear Group from 2011 to 2016.
He holds bachelor’s degrees in Astronomy/Physics, Physics, and Nuclear Engineering and a master’s in Nuclear Engineering & Engineering Physics from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Zillmer also has master’s degrees in Engineering Management and Systems Architecture & Engineering from University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He has had 15 patents issued.
