Private Astronaut


Dr. Richard Garriott is a private Astronaut and became the first second-generation American in space when he blasted off on Soyuz TMA-13 and spent 10 days on the International Space Station in October 2008. His foray into the space industry came as an adjunct to his 30 years of leading the software entertainment industry. Today he’s one of the world’s leading experts on commercial private space travel. In addition to his ongoing work and investing in the commercial space sector with companies and organizations like: Zero G, Space Adventures, the X Prize, SpaceX, the Challenger Center and others, Richard has also served as a member of the NASA Advisory Council.
