Andrea Farmer is business development director for NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, operated by Delaware North. She advances public and private sector sponsorships and partnerships to create interactive, inspirational and educational experiences for guests from around the world.
Andrea began her career at Delaware North in 2004 in the marketing department. As the senior public relations and content manager, she was responsible for creating attendance-building publicity, media relations, community relations and content development. Of her achievements, she is most proud of launching the PR campaign for the Space Shuttle Atlantis attraction, garnering national and international publicity.
Prior to joining Delaware North, Andrea served for 22 years at the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens, initially in food service, retail and admissions while attending high school and college, and ultimately as the Director of PR and Marketing. She also served as Director of Communications for the Orlando Regional Chamber of Commerce and as Director of Marketing for Cape Leisure Corporation.
Farmer is a member of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Space Coast Chapter and the National Space Club Florida Chapter. She serves as co-chair of the United Way Employee Campaign.
She was honored as the recipient of the 2013 Harry Kolcum Memorial News & Communication Award presented by the National Space Club Florida Committee and was named the 2007 PR Professional of the Year by the Space Coast FPRA chapter.
Andrea graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
